OilUnmixer™ software utilizes a new method to determine production allocation, both for multiple zones contributing to a single well, and for multiple wells contributing to a single pipeline.
OilUnmixer™ utilizes advanced methods for:
- Dealing with analytical uncertainty
- Assessing the validity of end member (zone specific) calibration samples
- Finding and mathematically removing contamination in the end members or commingled oils
- “Testing” the validity of the allocation results (in a graphical, easy to understand form)
Advantages include:
- Low Cost - Geochemical techniques for allocating commingled production from multiple zones typically result in a >90% cost savings relative to production logging
- Detection of zone performance problems at any point during the life of a well
- Applicability to vertical, deviated and horizontal wells
- Applicability to pumping wells
- Ability to quantify uncertainty: Geochemical techniques provide multiple, independent solutions to the allocation problem
- No risk of sticking a logging tool—Analysis of producted oil only.
- Ability to allocate in the absence or prescence of flow meter data
